Services: Child & Family Services of Central Manitoba (CFSCM) is a non-profit corporation that contracts with the Province of Manitoba to preform all services under the Manitoba Child & Family Services Act, the Manitoba Adoption Act, and the Manitoba Authorities Act in the Central Region. CFSCM Foundation offers multiple programs for children and families to benefit from. Programs/Services include: 
Chance 2 Grow: funding a wide variety of recreational and educational opportunities for children.
Chance 2 Camp: funding provided so children who, because of economic circumstances in their families, would not otherwise have the opportunity for a summer camp experience. 
Chance 2 Play: funded by NHL star Arron Asham's annual Charity Golf Tournament, money raised goes towards awarding children registration, equipment or transportation for that season's hockey program. 
Chance 2 Learn: provides financial assistance to former and current youth in care of Child & Family Services of Central Manitoba to assist with various post-secondary education expenses (intended for the sole purpose of supporting former and current youth in care of CFSCM. 
Other programs: include vacation allowance for children in care (for foster parents taking their foster child with them on a family vacation), emergency assistance, Foster Family Christmas Party, Tuition for former Wards, Bursaries and other(s). 
Eligibility: Anyone seeking help can contact the Child & Family Services for assistance. 
Chance 2 Grow: is for children who would otherwise not have the opportunities to participate in recreational and educational opportunities due to difficult economic circumstances. 
Chance 2 Camp: is for children who would otherwise not have the opportunity for a summer camp experience because of difficult economic circumstances. 
Chance 2 Play: is for children interested in playing hockey would would otherwise not be able to participate because of difficult economic circumstances. 
Chance 2 Learn: is for former and current youth in care of Child & Family Services of Central Manitoba to assist with various post-secondary education expenses (not open to general public).

Services: Provides a variety of business and community development services to the region such as business planning assistance, repayable loans, support for community development initiatives, project support and training opportunities. Community Futures Heartland identifies, stimulates and implements economic development opportunities to create employment, encourages entrepreneurial spirit through education and mentoring, creates opportunities for youth to remain in the community and is accountable for the administration of the investments funds for the establishment of small business in the region. Services offered include Business Development: Technical Services, Financial Services, Self-Employment Assistance (SEA) Program; Community Development: Strategic Planning, Facilitation.

Services: The Employment and Income Assistance Program (EIA) provides financial help to Manitobans who have no other way to support themselves or their families. This includes benefits from the Rent Assist Program that helps with housing costs. For people who are able to work, EIA can help them go back to work by providing supports to employment.
Eligibility:
You may be eligible for assistance if the total cost of your or your family’s monthly basic needs and housing costs are more than your total financial resources. Your financial resources are based on your income and assets. Some of your income and assets may not affect your eligibility.

Services: The Manitoba Child Benefit provides financial assistance which will help ensure parents will not lose all support for their children when moving off welfare. It also provides parents with additional assistance to help with some of the costs of prescription eyeglasses for their children.
Eligibility:
  • Resident of Manitoba
  • Have dependent children under the age of 18 who are in your care
  • In receipt of Canada Child Tax benefits for dependent children
  • Family income is below a specific level and is based on the previous year’s income
  • Cannot be in receipt of Employment and Income Assistance unless you are ONLY receiving the health benefits portion of EIA.
  • The Manitoba Child Benefit is paid through direct deposit.

Services: Program that provides referrals to community support services, counselling and job training, one-time emergency funding to assist with energy bills to lower income individuals, families, and seniors who are unable to pay their energy bill due to personal hardship or crisis.
Eligibility: Eligible if you: are not receiving social assistance; are currently in 60 days arrears or greater; have a final or Shut off/Disconnection notice; have not previously received assistance from this program, are willing to meet with the Salvation Army to fill out an application and provide proof of income for all household members for the current year; are willing to submit an application to Manitoba Hydro's Affordable Energy Program. In order to receive assistance, one must make an appointment with the Salvation Army Neighbours Helping Neighbours program director (Portage number provided).
